NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
Mainstream media belie the fact that both Republicans and Democrats in Congress supported extending jobless benefits.
The difference was that Republicans wanted to utilize unspent stimulus money to fund this, while Democrats wanted to add on to the already bloated $13-trillion deficit.
Since the Democrats’ bill was passed, another opportunity to be financially responsible is now by the boards.
Voters in November need to determine if there is any level of financial responsibility they will hold their elected officials to or whether they choose to believe the tooth fairy will continue to print money to put under their pillows at night.
