NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

There have been a couple of stories about me and my family regarding the saga of my comeback from death after surgery complications.

I stated that I would never have survived if it were not for the grace of God, faith and my family.

My son Jordan, who is 23, took on the burden of physical care of me for more than one year. My letter is in regard to him.

We raised him in a Christian home, church and private Christian schools his entire life and gave him every opportunity to embrace life.

Two weeks ago, he was running errands for me at the Wilmington Road Giant Eagle. When he returned to his car, he noticed a purse just sitting in an unattended buggy. He looked around and saw no one.

He looked in the purse and found the wallet with an elderly woman’s license, cell phone, credit cards and several hundred dollars in cash. It makes me happy to know that the son we raised did the right thing. He looked on her license, located her home and took the purse and entire contents to her home.

She was not at home, but a neighbor took his name and number and the woman called him and thanked him.

It is uplifting to our family that we all did something right and raised a loving, caring and compassionate son.

There are still good people that we encounter every day. I just pray God blesses him as he has blessed me.
