Police efforts praised with school crossings

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

I would like to thank Officer Kennedy for the wonderful job he does at JFK School.

He’s out in front of the school every morning making sure the children get in safely. He also stands outside the school at dismissal to let the children cross the street safely. He also keeps the traffic moving so no one gets injured.

It makes a grandmother feel very safe that he is there. Even if you pick your child up early, he makes sure you have the proper ID. It’s comforting to know that the child isn’t going with a stranger.

The New Castle police department doesn’t get enough credit for what it does. I’m very thankful for Kennedy. He does his job very well. It makes me feel so much better knowing my granddaughter is protected while in school.

Do you talk to yourself when you're alone?

Yes, but I’m basically just thinking out loud.
No, that would be weird.
I don’t know. Next time I’m alone, I’ll ask.
