NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

Once again, in Lawrence County, we will be taking a day to stand up to support the pro-life movement.

Today, as it has been now for 40 years, it is important we stand, those who are pro-life and believe that every unborn child has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

We have three locations county residents can attend to take part in this important event. They are New Castle, New Wilmington and Ellwood City. For one hour on Oct. 6, individuals can join others to take a stand and quietly pray for the innocent unborn children and our national leaders to end this horrible tragedy upon our children.

Those who wish can join in prayer at 1:30 p.m. and then join others along the designated locations in each community from 2 to 3 p.m. We encourage all pastors of our churches in Lawrence County to share with their local congregations and encourage many to go and take a stand.

We do realize many are not able to get out because of health matters, and we ask and encourage these people to please pray for those who are able to go and take a stand and pray for those who are considering this act of “life or death” for those innocent children they are carrying.

This summer, many of us have attended the Lawrence County and Butler fairs, the Pyrotechnic competition and many other events in and out of our area. Now we ask people to go to the Life Chain event and take a stand for the innocent unborn children of our world.

In case of rain, Life Chain will be postponed.
