NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
I recently had the opportunity to participate in a Red Cross blood drive conducted at Laurel High School.
It was done under the sponsorship of the National Honor Society chapter at Laurel.
I wish to commend the students, staff and Laurel school district, parents and community for a very pleasant experience.
There were in excess of 100 units of blood collected at the drive. That was a vast amount in excess of the usual amount collected at the regular Tuesday collections at Trinity Episcopal Church in New Castle.
I was very impressed with the demeanor of the students who participated as donors and sponsors. I don’t believe I have met a finer group of students in the area in my 30-plus years as a resident of New Castle.
It was a job well done.
