Local dentist lauded as true humanitarian

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

With the passing of Dr. James Paige, New Castle has lost not only an excellent dentist but a great humanitarian.

Dr. Paige provided dental care for any family for 30 years. He was always a true professional, but also one who genuinely cared for the welfare of his patients.

Dr. Paige always welcomed walk-in patients even if they couldn’t afford to pay the complete expenses. He was especially concerned with the welfare of elementary school children and frequently provided dental care to them free of charge, if it was obvious that their parents couldn’t or wouldn’t see that they received the necessary care.

Dr. Paige was also a true family man. He always spoke lovingly and proudly of his wife and son. It seems strange to drive past that little office on West Washington Street and to know that Dr. Paige is no longer there.

Dr. James Paige will certainly be missed by everyone who has known what a caring individual he was.
