Blundo offers inspiring program at church

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

I am writing this letter to express my feelings about Ralph Blundo, the New Castle basketball coach.

He was a speaker at our church, Word of Life, recently.

I am not praising him for his wonderful season as a championship coach, but I am praising him as a perfect example of what a father, husband, coach and Godly man he is.

My husband and I were losing our faith in what we thought was happening in the city and schools. The culture seems to be losing the light of what is good and moral in our town.

After listening to this young man, we feel like he is a light in a dark place. His belief in God and what is right and wrong in today’s culture really touched our hearts.

One of the things that he says to his team really gave me hope for this city once again. It is Romans 12:2 — do not be conformed to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I am grateful to Blundo for restoring our faith in our town once again. God bless him and his family.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

Yes. All evidence points that way.
No. Everyone is so quick to point fingers, but there's not enough evidence to support claims of Russian guilt.
I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
