America’s welfare system gives but it also takes

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving,

Government cannot give to anyone anything that government does not first take from someone else.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and the other half gets the idea it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they worked for, this is the start of the end of any nation.

Japan does not have a welfare system. Work for it or do without. The A-bomb dropped in 1945. Today, Japan prospers; Detroit is in slums.

Government welfare was created to buy votes for those who want stuff.

Would you want to know what your pet is thinking about you?

Yes! I'd love to know what my pet is thinking.
Nah, it's probably not that interesting.
I don't know. I'm afraid of what I might find out.
