NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

Once again our community has come together supporting Operation Lifeline for the ninth annual Christmas care package drive for the troops.

On Nov. 27, volunteers, along with support group members, packed homemade cookies, fudge, drink mixes, candy, snacks and handmade cards.

Special recognition goes to area church members, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for fudge, The News and Bargain Bulletin for publishing requests for names and addresses of soldiers.

God bless all who gave of their time, talents and monetary gifts for postage. They brought smiles and a taste of home to those brave men and women serving our country and keeping us free at home.
