Wounded Pakistani girl may help unify Muslims

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

Malala Yousafzai is a 14-year-old Pakistan girl who is fighting for her life after being shot by the Taliban.

She has been fighting for the rights of women since she was 11.

The Taliban has admitted shooting her and quoting the Koran that what she has been doing is against Islamic law and has been directing them to kill her and others like her.

She is in good company. Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. also fought nonviolently for truth and were assassinated.

It is heart warming that the whole nations of Pakistan and Afghanistan are praying for her recovery.

It is hopeful that the peace-loving Muslim world will now unite and move to do something to remove the radical Muslims for good.

Maybe this 14-year-old girl will be the one to improve things in the Middle East and the world.

The full story can be read on line by just typing in “Malala Yousafzai.”

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

Yes. All evidence points that way.
No. Everyone is so quick to point fingers, but there's not enough evidence to support claims of Russian guilt.
I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
