NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
Why are we not restoring that beautiful Cascade Park?
We should get some of the workers who sit in that well-equipped shanty to do some of the work on the park.
It possibly could be restored to a thing of beauty that it once was.
And people shouldn’t say that it can’t be done. If you put your mind to it, anything can be done.
In 1953, when I came to this country, I thought it was the most beautiful park I had seen, and in New Castle.
That brings to mind those beautiful trees on the Diamond. I forgot they might make New Castle also a sight to remember.
Don’t keep filling the paper with who gets raises. I always thought a raise had to be earned.
We should just concentrate on the park so our younger generation can look forward to taking their children walking, like we oldsters did so many years ago.
I appreciate the efforts of Mr. Vesco and The News for its coverage of the park. I am also grateful to all the people who so graciously shared their memories with us.
