Many gave support to light up Wampum

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

The Wampum Area Business Association expresses appreciation to everyone who helped make this year’s Light Up the Town a success.

Even though the weather was wet, we had a good turnout.

Our gratitude goes to Olayer Farms for setting up a hay wagon for the Northside kindergarten children to sing on. Ellwood City’s Northside kindergarten class gave a wonderful singing performance.

Marshall Funeral Home let us use its parking lot and provided cookies. Ferrante Upholstering and Carpeting had popcorn, a nice cozy fire and cookies.

Wampum Underground and Byer’s Trucking provided a horse and buggy. Dance Expressions and Diamond Dance had great performers.

Jata’s Diner helped with hot chocolate, coffee and the use of electricity, while Stop n Shop contributed the use of a parking lot and electricity.

Peggy Rychlicki helped with goodies and the Wampum Volunteer Fire Department allowed use of its facility for making luminaries and assisted with the setting up of luminaries. The Wampum Police Department helped as well.
