Editor, The News:
Getting ready to retire in the near future, I was thinking of how things have changed over the years.
I remember when we never locked our doors. Today, we have dead bolts and alarm systems. I wonder why.
I remember walking down the street at night and not being afraid. Today, it is not safe to drive your car at night. I wonder why.
I remember when heroes were police officers and military personnel. Today, heroes are football and baseball players. I wonder why.
I remember when people wore their Sunday best to church. Today, people wear torn jeans and shorts to church. We lost our respect for God and His house. I wonder why.
I remember saying the Lord’s prayer in school. Today, God is not allowed in school. I wonder why.
I remember when the United States was one nation under God. Today, the United States has turned its back on God and chosen to follow in the evil footsteps of Satan.
I wonder why. I wonder.
