Muslim clerics pursue efforts to deny rights

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

Did you know that clerics are now demanding that those who insult the Islamic religion must be punished all over the world?

Saudi Grand Mufti Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh and other clerics made this demand following the incidents that occurred around the world on Sept. 11, 2001.

These clerics have pressured the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to pressure non-Muslim countries to implement policies and laws to punish violators who insult the Islamic religion, in particular, and other religious figures as well.

Last March, Asheikh told a group of visiting Kuwaitis that “all churches in the Arabian Peninsula should be destroyed.” He quoted Mohammed who supposedly said that two religions in the Arabian Peninsula cannot exist.

The Democratic Convention also demonstrated that party’s love of the Muslims. Over 9,000 Christians came together to make welcome gift baskets for the Democratic delegates. When notified of this, the DNC banned the churches from distributing the baskets to the delegates.

The DNC said that the congregations making the baskets hold values “contrary to the party platform.” It seems their views on God and women’s rights, as well as same-sex marriages, was in conflict with Democratic principles.

The DNC refused to return phone calls on the subject, but when 200 Muslims showed up to pray for the convention, the Dems welcomed them with open arms. It also took three delegate votes to get the word God put back into that platform.

This subject has now made its way to the U.N. for a resolution outlawing “insulting symbols of Islam.” Would this be applicable in America if President Obama signs this resolution?

Someone needs to tell Ambassador Rice that this is unacceptable and violates our First Amendment rights of free speech. We must not give in to this Muslim interference with our liberties.
