NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
After reading the Sept. 14 paper, I am compelled to write and beg the council of the city of New Castle to please not cut down our beautiful trees.
Our town is not as great as it once was, but we still have great, big, beautiful trees. I bet that at least once a week I comment about the trees along the Neshannock Creek, at Cascade Park and Pearson Park. They are all so extremely amazing and life giving.
Officials should think of the animals that build their homes in them, raise their young in them, provide food for them and provide shade and oxygen for all of us
Council members should reconsider cutting them down for profit, and use some other means to raise money. I hear the city got a lot of money from Marcellus Shale leasing. That ought to be enough to save the trees.
