NEW CASTLE — Some decisions count

more than election

Editor, The News:

Decision 2012, the most important decision you will make.

That’s what I’m hearing from both sides, but is it the most important decision we will make?

They say every vote will matter in this election because this election will be that close.

I recently even sent a contribution to one national campaign to support advertising for the candidate and policies of my choice.

I didn’t do it for me or my wife, but I was thinking of my children and their future, probably, like a lot of others on both sides.

Then I was thinking, “Is this election any more important than any other?” I had to answer no.

I had another letter ready to send and even though this will be my last post before the election, I decided to mail this one instead, because, for someone out there, this might be the last letter he or she may read or one that I may send. You just never know.

You see, I believe that according to whom we choose, God will either bless or curse this country. My responsibility is only to vote my conscience and to trust Him in the result.

The consequences of this election are temporal, but there is another decision that we will make that has eternal consequence and as you know, eternity is a long, long time.

So I ask this more relevant question: What have you decided about ‘The Christ’? Do you believe who He says He is?

In closing, I would like to offer this blessing. “May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and may He be gracious to you. May His countenance lift you up and may He grant you peace.”
