LETTER: No change provided by Obama
New Castle News
Editor, The News:
Watching the Obama campaign, one would think there is nothing positive happening in America.
Apparently we’re a third-world country where no one has jobs, money or any future.
Why does he feel he must fabricate an apocalyptic vision of America to get elected? Simple, it’s the time-tested method of scaring people to get votes.
How can he claim he will create jobs, yet will punish companies for being profitable? Why would he support a minimum wage increase that economists said would create (and did, as it always does) a spike in unemployment?
How can he claim he’s the middle-class savior and then sponsor a record amount of tax increases? How can he support government-run health care in light of its legendary incompetence in all other programs?
How can he attack oil companies for prices and then block any effort to drill oil and build refineries?
It doesn’t take long to see through Barack Obama’s contradictory thinking. For a candidate of change, he sounds identical to his colleagues who trample our rights and suck our wallets dry. Isn’t it elitist, power-hungry politicians like him that we need change from?
Obama isn’t a new hope. He’s the extreme version of everything that is wrong with our government.
Maybe people should stop voting for political parties and start voting for their country. Aren’t we tired of hearing people proclaim they’re a “Democrat” or a “Republican.” Is anyone an American?
Does anyone put America first instead of pressing the party button? Aren’t we tired of politicians trying to divide us into voting blocks while shouting “unity?”
If we want real change, we must stop letting politicians talk down to us and act like they can run our lives better than us. We must remind them who is in charge.
