Editor, The News:
I chose to fully cooperate with Attorney General Tom Corbett’s investigation because I learned that orders I received from previous supervisors had caused me to participate in certain questionable conduct, because I wanted to accept responsibility for that conduct, and do the right thing.
After meeting with me, it was my understanding that the attorney general’s office found me to be completely honest, was not investigating me personally and did not believe that I had any relevant criminal responsibility.
In retrospect, I certainly question some of the things I was ordered to participate in by my previous superiors. Naivety and fear of losing my job clouded my better judgment.
While the above do not excuse my conduct, it was only this year when, as a House staffer, I attended the first-ever ethics training session, that I fully learned and appreciated the breadth and scope of how ethics rules and laws had been breached.
While I have received immunity for my assistance with the attorney general’s investigation, I would like my friends, family and Pennsylvanians to know that I accept personal responsibility and deeply regret my actions.
