Photo Gallery, Video: Outdoors enthusiasts enjoy Sportsman’s Night Out

NEW CASTLE —  Friday night marked the 27th annual Sportsman’s Night Out at Laurel High School.

Outdoors enthusiasts packed the gymnasium for the event, which is sponsored by the Laurel Conservation Club.

Upon pulling into the high school parking lot, cars were being directed to the old school building because of an overflow of vehicles.

The new gym at Laurel housed a variety of vendors and displays alongside many games for kids, including Pong Pond, Putt-Putt, Cornhole and a mini gun range. The sound of children laughing and having a good time was endless.

While the games were going on, there also were presentations in other parts of the building. A different speaker appeared every half hour,  including Greg and Jake Miller, stars of the television series “In Pursuit.”

Seminars included topics such as “Deer Scents,” “Basic Fly Tying,” “Top 10 Questions about Whitetails,” and “Women and Muzzleloaders.”

And the color of choice Friday night for the usually dark green Laurel High?

Camouflage.

Just like the great outdoors.

Members of the Brady Bunch, now all in their 50s, recently reunited in front of screaming fans. Now the Rolling Stones, all in or nearing their 70s, are touring again. How old is too old to entertain?

You’re NEVER too old! Age is just a number — more power to ’em!
Geez! I didn’t realize they were THAT old! That’s, like, my grandpa’s age.
Not sure. But I do enjoy a good “Golden Girls” rerun in syndication. Now THAT’S entertainment!
