Laurel OKs positions

NEW CASTLE — The Laurel School Board approved the employment of three instructors for additional duties this week.

Ryan Wypych, technology educator, was named to the secondary summer computer maintenance at a salary of $2,175.

Deana Buckner, math instructor, was named secondary math department head for the 2014-15 school year at a salary of $850.

Emily Garner, English teacher, was named as National Honor Society co–adviser for the 2014-15 school year at a salary of $525.

The board also reported the resignation of music teacher Pamela Croach.

Nutrition Group was awarded a new five-year contract to manage the district’s food service program. The company has been managing the district’s program for the last several years.

Approval was granted for the 2014 summer library program. It will be 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday in July at Laurel Elementary School.
