NEW CASTLE —
The Laurel School Board has approved the purchase of a 72-passenger bus.
Wolfington Body Co. of Exton, Pa., was awarded the contract for $79,935, which was the lowest of three bids received.
At its meeting the board also:
•Approved the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center budget of $7,084,421 for the 2012-13 school year. The shares to be paid by each of the county’s eight school districts toward the budget have yet to be finalized.
•Hired Tina Lechner at the junior/senior high school cafeteria for $7.25 per hour.
•Approved a leave of absence for Elizabeth Ernst, high school Spanish teacher, from May 7 until the beginning of the 2012-13 school year in August.
