Laurel’s Mraz does well at WPIAL meet
Laurel High’s Mackenzie Mraz fared well at the WPIAL Gymnastics Championship. Mraz, who competed in the silver division last year, participated in the gold division this year.

Laurel to refinance bond issue
The Laurel School District plans to take advantage of favorable interest rates to refinance a 2007 bond issue. Refinancing of the $10 million issue is projected to save the district $875,000. The loan was used for construction at the junior/senior high school.

Laurel OKs bus purchase
The Laurel School Board has approved the purchase of a 72-passenger bus. Wolfington Body Co. of Exton, Pa., was awarded the contract for $79,935, which was the lowest of three bids received.
