NEW CASTLE —
You have it or you don’t.
You will or you won’t.
If you can, do.
If you can’t, don’t.
Or come up with a way to get it done.
In the end, all we really can control is our attitude and effort.
All we really can do is our best.
But do we?
Consistently, I mean.
What makes a great player?
It’s not making a great play every fifth or sixth possession. A great player is one who makes the GOOD PLAY every time.
And so it goes in life.
People will want to work with you and work for you if you display consistency.
In your work ethic.
And in you attitude.
They will buy tickets to watch you play.
They will buy your products and tell others to do the same.
They will see you as someone they can trust.
Are you a “Wysiwyg” ... What You See Is What You Get?
If you’re like me, the answer is probably “occasionally.”
True greatness, then, is about turning our SOMEtimes into ALL times.
If it’s in your power, don’t leave people disappointed.
Never leave your coach, your family or your co-workers guessing.
Don’t leave people hanging.
If you say you’re gonna call, call.
If you can’t make a workout or an appointment, say so.
If you told a friend you would meet her at 4 p.m., don’t show up at 4:30.
It’s better to offer no excuse than a bad one.
Make sure others can believe you.
’Cause if they don’t, they’ll leave you.
Are you a people pleaser by nature?
If so, remember that you’ll please more people by being consistent.
Say what you mean.
Mean what you say.
Jump off the fence and commit.
Play with joy.
Speak truth in love.
If you do, you’ll always have a spot on the team.
Because that’s greatness. And greatness is in demand.
