New Castle police charged the following:

•Samuel Lee Lowry III, 30, of New Castle, defiant trespass.

•Marcell Dashon Kelly, 22, of Virginia Beach, Va., firearm not to be carried without a license.

•Kenneth Lee Foster, 30, of New Castle, simple assault, defiant trespass and harassment.

•Allison Marie Ruttinger, 21, of New Castle, arrest prior to requisition.

•Maurice C. Moore, 29, of New Castle, possession of firearm prohibited, firearms not to be carried without a license, manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, intent to possess a controlled substance and driving while operating privilege suspended or revoked.

•Tyrell Lyles, 20, of New Castle, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, careless driving, reckless driving, not wearing proper headgear on motorcycle and not wearing an eye protection device.

•Eagles Lodge No. 455, of New Castle, control of alarm devices violation.

JERRY G. CARTWRIGHT

•Ryan Scott Kelly, 39, of Ellwood City, charged by Ellwood City police with driving under the influence, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving while operating privilege suspended or revoked and fraudulent use or removal of registration plate.

State police charged the following:

•Anthony James Hoover, 23, of New castle, criminal attempt-burglary and criminal mischief.

•Ivy S. Yeager, 40, of Wampum, two counts of cruelty to animals.

•Sonia Russ, 67, charged by state police with robbery, theft, giving false identification to a law officer and harassment.

•April Lin Brightshue, 41, of New Castle, charged by New Castle police with dogs at large.

The Laurel tax collector charged the following:

•Brian Kirkwood, of New Castle, wage taxes violation.

•Jesse Maitland, of New Castle, wage taxes violation.

•Wade Michaels, of Portersville, wage taxes violation.

•Derek Pelligrene, of Ellwood City, wage taxes violation.

•Kimberly Richie, of New Castle, wage taxes violation.

•Stacy L. Staples, 42, of Ellwood City, wage taxes viiolation.

•Jean M. Steele, of New Castle, wage taxes violation.

•Jason Whisel, 34, of New Castle, wage taxes violation.

•Robert Williams, of Portersville, wage taxes violation.

•Jason Williams, of Ellwood City, wage taxes violation.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
