STATE


•Accident. Police said Emily J. Tressler, 27, of New Castle was driving east on Interstate 376 in Neshannock Township about 11:35 p.m. Wednesday and could not avoid a deer that ran in front of her car. Police said the deer was killed. Tressler was not injured.

•Accident. Police said a deer ran into the path of a vehicle driven by Phillip F. Gaston, 60, of Girard, Ohio, as he was eastbound on Interstate 376 in Neshannock Township around 5:10 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

•Burglary. Police said someone broke into a house in the 1000 block of Main Street in Wampum between May 3 and 4 and took a computer.

•Elizabeth A. Barter, 50, of New Castle, charged by New Castle police with public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

New Castle’s code enforcement department charged the following:

•Kelly Coryea, 37, of Sharpsville, accessory structures violation and accumulation of rubbish or garbage.

•Shannon Nixon of New Castle, accumulation of rubbish or garbage.

•Curtis W. Cottrill, 53, of New Castle, motor vehicles violation and accumulation of rubbish or garbage.

•Shadetree Investments of New Castle, two counts of accumulation of rubbish or garbage and one count of doors violation.

•Jeffrey Mansfield, 35, of Slippery Rock, charged by Ellwood City police with driving under the influence, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and careless driving.

•James Arthur Hill Jr., 48, of Bessemer, charged by Bessemer police with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

Union Township police charged the following:

•Latonnia J. Lyles, 34, of New Castle, defiant trespass.

•Kail Xavier Habib, 28, of Edinburg, defiant trespass.

•Connie E. Kerr, 50, of New Castle, retail theft.

Shenango Township police charged the following:

•Brandy Lynn Robertson, 30, of New Castle, retail theft.

•Joshua Michael Klein, 18, of New Castle, seven counts each of possession of explosive or incendiary material and making repairs to or selling offensive weapons, and five counts each of dangerous burning, criminal mischief and recklessly endangering another person, four counts of arson and risking catastrophe and one count each of causing catastrophe and possession of an instrument of crime.

•Daniel R. McConahy, 19, of New Castle, seven counts each of possession of explosive or incendiary material and making repairs to or selling offensive weapons, five counts each of dangerous burning, criminal mischief and recklessly endangering another person, four counts of arson and risking catastrophe and one count each of causing catastrophe and possession of an instrument of crime.
