Police

STATE


•Accident. Police said Amber R. Laitnen, 18, of New Castle, was northbound on Brewster Road in North Beaver Township about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and failed to negotiate a curve in the road. Police said she over-steered and the car began spinning, leaving the road and striking an embankment twice. No injuries were reported. Laitnen was cited for traveling at an unsafe speed.

•Accident. Police said Kenneth M. Graham, 28, of New Castle, was eastbound on Princeton Station Road, Slippery Rock Township, about 3:50 a.m. Saturday and left the road, striking a utility pole. Officers said the pole broke about halfway up and the top fell to the ground. Police said Graham fled on foot. Officers said the vehicle, which sustained front-end damage, contained paperwork with Graham’s name. They also found a broken glass beer bottle and beer everywhere. No injuries were reported. Graham was cited.

•Accident. Police said Mark A. Strohecker, 46, of Ellwood City, was southbound on River Road, Wayne Township, at 6 a.m. Friday, when he rounded a curve and began to slide on the wet road. His car left the road, struck a tree, then struck and became hung up on a guide rail. No injuries were reported. Strohecker was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

•Accident. Police said Ashlynn R. Wagner, 17, of Volant, was westbound on Mount Jackson Road/Route 108 in North Beaver Township about 2 p.m. Sunday and lost control of her vehicle while rounding a curve. The vehicle left the road, hit a tree and went over a hillside. No injuries were reported.

The New Castle school district charged the following people:

•Anna Searan of New Castle, compulsory school attendance violation.

•Lashawna Drayton, 38, of New Castle, compulsory school attendance violation.

New Castle police charged the following people:

•Albert Chadwell, 31, of New Castle, two counts each of simple assault and harassment and one count each of aggravated assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.

•Ana Martinez, 57, of New Castle, disorderly house.

•Keith Palmer of New Castle, harassment.

•Joshua M. Lemmon of New Castle, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

New Castle’s code enforcement department charged the following people:

•Laverne Kline, of Volant, two counts of failure to obtain or renew residential rental property permit.

•Rochelle Salsbury, of Cockeysville, Md., weeds, trees and ornamental shrubs violation, chimneys and towers violation, exterior paint violation, accumulation of rubbish or garbage, upholstered furniture or mattresses in yards prohibited and sidewalks and driveways violation.

•Dakota Olinger, 18, of Enon Valley, charged by Little Beaver Township police with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment.

Municipal code enforcement charged the following people:

•Alan Bruce Cunningham, 60, of Ellwood City, violation of borough ordinance.

•Dean and Gudyk of New Castle, violation of borough ordinance.

•George E. Carabetta of Ellwood City, violation of borough ordinance.

•Anthony J. Cox, 28, of New Castle, charged by dog law enforcement with vaccination against rabies required.

Shenango Township police charged the following people:

•Dawn M. Wallace, 31, of New Castle, robbery.

•Mark Anthony Ortiz, 28, of Edinburg, conspiracy-criminal homicide, conspiracy-robbery and conspiracy-aggravated assault.

•Michael Todd Falba, 29, of New Castle, three counts of criminal attempt, two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of accident involving death or personal injury, criminal mischief, recklessly endangering another person, accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property, reckless driving and failure to stop and give information or render aid.
