To Shannon and John Balogh of New Castle, a daughter on April 23, 2013.

To Desiree Sheffer of Portersville and Justin Worley of Warren, Ohio, a son on April 25, 2013.


To Allison and Allan Joseph of New Castle, a daughter on April 23, 2013, at Horizon Hospital, Farrell.

To China Lee Tarver and Terry Lee Fair Jr. of Masury, Ohio, a son on April 24, 2013, at Horizon Hospital, Farrell.

District judges


New Castle police charged the following:

•Zebuliah James Bartley, 35, of Wampum, public drunkenness and consumption/possession of alcohol.

•Joshua Andrew Hall, 24, of Ellwood City, public drunkenness and consumption/possession of alcohol.

•David M. Thompson Sr., 64, of New Castle, two counts of terroristic threats.

•John B. Wolanzyk, 43, of New Castle, criminal attempt, resisting arrest, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

•Mary Aladeine O'Brien, 48, of New Castle, two counts each of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, conspiracy and intent to possess a controlled substance and one count of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

New Castle's code enforcement department charged the following:

•Steve Shinsky, of New Castle, exterior paint violation.

•Jenee R. Dosch, 22, of New Castle, accumulation of garbage or rubbish.


•Kaylen Illig, 25, of Ellwood City, charged by dog law enforcement with pet confinement and control violation.

Ellwood City police charged the following:

•David J. Carter, 21, of Ellwood City, simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness.

•Alan Patterson, 43, of Beaver Falls, public drunkenness.

•Kristine Patterson, 39, of Ellwood City, disorderly conduct.

•Thomas Stofen, 18, of New Brighton, driving under the influence.


Mahoning Township police charged the following:

•Justina Jean Reay, 25, of Ellwood City, conspiracy/burglary and conspiracy/criminal trespass.

•Matthew Paul Spielvogel, 27, of Ellwood City, burglary, criminal trespass and two counts of conspiracy.


•David Richard McLaren Jr., 34, of New Castle, charged by Shenango Township police with retail theft.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
