Burrelli going to trial in father’s shooting death

NEW CASTLE — All charges against Michael Burrelli have been held for court.

Burrelli, 28, of 5 Fruitland Drive is charged with criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence in the Aug. 21 death of his father, Charles Burrelli, 58, of the same address. Police say he shot his father seven times at close range at a warehouse in Union Township.

His preliminary hearing was today in Lawrence County Central Court and he remains in the county jail without bond.

The elder Burrelli was the owner of May’s Donuts, a business he operated with his son.

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
