Attempted homicide charge held for court

NEW CASTLE — A man allegedly involved in a stabbing has waived his charges to court.

Reginald Anderson Murphy, 26, of 353 Halco Drive, remains in the Lawrence County jail.

He is charged with attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault and a weapons violation.

Murphy was arrested following an Aug. 7 stabbing on the city’s West Side.

According to police, Murphy and the victim began arguing about an incident that had occurred several days before.

The victim, who told Murphy to get out of his car, sustained 10 stab wounds, most to his right arm and back and one to the right side of his face, according to police.
