NEW CASTLE —
•Burglary. Coins, a laptop computer and bicycle were reported stolen from a Muddy Creek Road home in Slippery Rock Township between Aug. 14 and 17.
•Theft. Batteries reported taken from vehicles parked at a Smalls Ferry Road business in North Beaver Township between Aug. 16 and 19.
•Accident. An all-terrain vehicle ridden by Richard J. Fisher, 13, of Portersville, flipped and rolled over after he hit a pickup truck while trying to cross Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township at 12:26 p.m. on Tuesday, police said. Officers said Fisher had been riding through a field. Fisher sustained a minor injury. He was cited for a summary traffic violation. Pickup driver Dennis L. Barnhart, 53, of Butler, was not injured.
•Accident. At 9 a.m. Aug. 13 on Route 351, Enon Valley. Police said Thomas S. Haines, 35, of Ellwood City, and Thomas C. Heasley, 72, of Enon Valley were traveling eastbound. Haines was following too closely to Heasley’s sport utility vehicle, police said. As Heasley attempted to make a left turn into his yard, Haines attempted to go around him on the left side and hit Heasley’s vehicle. Police said Heasley sustained a moderate injury. Police said Haines will be cited for following too closely.
