District judges: Listings for March 5

NEW CASTLE — Melissa A. Amodie

New Castle police charged the following people:

•Terell Lyles, 21, of New Castle, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, careless driving, reckless driving, not wearing proper motorcycle headgear and not wearing an eye protection device.

•Charles L. Miller, 31, of New Castle, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

Jennifer Nicholson

•Michael Kaye Aeschbacher, 40, of New Castle, charged by Union Township police with retail theft and receiving stolen property.

Scott A. McGrath

Neshannock Township police charged the following people:

•Vera E. Novakovich-Reed, 46, of West Middlesex, retail theft.

•Darlene J. Cuffman, 55, of New Castle, driving under the influence and disregarding traffic lane.

•Nicole Marie Robertson, 28, of New Castle, retail theft.

The Lawrence County commissioners have decided to solicit proposals for the private operation of the county jail. Good idea?

Yes. If it’s a more efficient way to run the jail, I’m all for it.
No. I think there would be too many questions of liability for the county.
Not sure. The county seems to be doing a good job of running the jail now. Why break it if it’s not broken?
