On the Record: Today’s births, police items and district judge reports

•Accident. Police said Megan J. Hoover, 19, of New Castle, hit a deer while northbound on Route 19 in Slippery Rock Township about midnight on Saturday. Police said no injuries were reported but the car was disabled.

•Theft. Police said several rolls of shingles, roofing paper, felt paper, other roofing materials, a battery, a propane tank and an extension ladder — collectively valued at $6,566 — were taken from a truck parked at Wampum Improvement Center, Route 18 in Wampum, between 4:30 p.m. Oct. 16 and 9 a.m. Oct. 17. Police said $175 worth of damage was done to the property.


•Burglary. A gun and jewelry were taken from a Lake Drive house between 10 and 11 a.m. Friday.


•Theft. A crossbow with scope, quiver and three arrows — collectively valued at $500 — were taken from a garage in the 500 block of Haus Way between 10 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday.

•Theft. Police said tools valued at $1,530 were taken from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a Locust Street house between 2 p.m. Thursday and 10:25 a.m. Friday.

•Theft. Various tools, valued collectively at $6,000, were taken from a construction van parked in the 1100 block of Dewey Avenue between midnight Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday.

•Hit-and-run. Police said the back bumper of a vehicle, parked in a lot in the 700 block of Croton Avenue, was damaged about 1:30 p.m. Friday by a vehicle that then left the scene.

•Accident. Police were told front end damage was sustained by a vehicle parked in the Lawrence County Government Center parking lot between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday.

•Burglary. Police said two television sets reported taken from a residence in 1100 block of Parkwood Court, Crestview Gardens between 8 and 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

•Accident. Police said John Clukey, 43, of Virginia Beach, Va., hit several large tree limbs while turning his tractor-trailer from West Washington Street onto North Beaver Street at 10:23 a.m. Thursday. Officers said one limb was stuck between the cab and trailer causing light damage but not rendering the tractor-trailer unable to proceed. New Castle’s public works and code enforcement departments and Eat ’n Park were notified. Police said public works employees cut the tree limbs.
