STATE


•Theft. Copper grounding wires from a power substation at the Youth Development Center, Frew Mill Road, Shenango Township, between July 10 and Oct. 21. Police said someone climbed a fence, cut the wires and fled undetected. The theft and damages were valued at $4,500.

District judges

MELISSA A. AMODIE


•Lisa M. Madrid, 42, of New Castle, charged by the Pennsylvania Office of Inspector General with fraud in obtaining food stamps or services.

New Castle police charged the following:

•Ciara Bailey, 19, of New Castle, receiving stolen property.

•Shane Pennachio, 21, of New Castle, possession of marijuana.

The Lawrence County district attorney charged the following:

•Tracy L. McVay, 38, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence and one count of failure to stop at red signal.

•Susan Marie Maola, 51, of New Castle, theft of services.

•David Jonathan Dean, 26, of New Castle, charged by municipal code enforcement with violation of borough ordinance.

•Randall Joseph Stevens, 33, of Ellwood City, charged by state police with criminal mischief.

State police charged the following:

•Eugene J. Pegher, 63, of Slippery Rock, harassment.

•Larry E. Bintrim, 65, of New Castle, disorderly conduct.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
