•Criminal mischief. The back window of a sport utility vehicle was shattered by a rock and the rear hatch damaged while it was parked in the 1000 block of East Washington Street between noon May 30 and noon May 31. Police said the rock and smashed eggshells were found inside the car.

•Criminal mischief. Police on Wednesday charged Natasha Yvonne Smith, 36, of Farrell with defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief in connection with a March 22 disturbance at Nails by Van, 117 E. North St. Police said Smith, a former employee of the business, reportedly knocked over several bottles of polish and fake nails from a counter top, causing the bottles to break onto a woman’s leather Coach purse, a metal safe and the carpeting.

 STATE

•Theft. A laptop computer and money were reported stolen from a house in the 100 block of Andrews Trace, North Beaver Township, on May 24.

•Accident. Police said Joshua J. Senchak, 27, of New Castle, was driving south on Route 18 in North Beaver Township around 9:20 a.m. May 27 when his car went off the berm, hit a guard rail and rolled over. Senchak told police he was distracted by an insect inside his car and tried to swat at it. He suffered moderate injury, police said, and was cited for careless driving.

•Arrest. Robert Montez Brodie, 45, of Sharon was stopped for speeding May 24 on Interstate 376 in Neshannock Township when troopers learned he was wanted by Trumbull County Court in Ohio for a misdemeanor offense of driving while his license was suspended. He was charged with arrest prior to requisition and arraigned by District Judge Jennifer L. Nicholson, who committed him to the Lawrence County jail on a $25,000 bond.

New Castle's code enforcement department charged the following:

•Vakia Janee Armstrong, 39, of New Castle, sidewalks and driveways violation.

•James Heffelfinger, of New Castle, failure to cut weeds or grass and gutters and downspouts violation.

New Castle police charged the following:

•Donna Rose Salomon, 27, of New Castle, flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment.

•Anthony Thurman, 22, of New Castle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

•Gerald Stewart Greenham, 62, of Ellwood City, two counts of driving under the influence and one count of failure to stop at stop sign.

•Imran Choudhary, 19, of New Castle, firearms not to be carried without a license, terroristic threats and simple assault.

•Shahied Fateen Tucker-Saahir, 37, of New Brighton, charged by state police with two counts each of driving under the influence and exceeding the speed limit, and one count each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, fleeing or attempting to elude officer, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, driving while blood alcohol count is .02 or greater with license suspended, failure to obey traffic-control devices, turning movements and required signals violation, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, reckless driving and accident damage to unattended vehicle or property.

•David Strickland Jr., 30, of New Brighton, Pa., charged by Ellwood City police with simple assault, theft and harassment.

•Delilah Rachele Pope, 26, of New Castle, charged by New Castle police with simple assault, harassment and driving without a license.

•Jeffrey Phillip Mansfield, 35, of New Castle, charged by Union Township police with three counts of driving under the influence and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to keep right.

•Robert James Kennedy, 73, of New Castle, charged by North Beaver Township police with disorderly conduct.

•Jacob R. Lagestee, 20, of West Middlesex charged by state police with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count each of possession of marijuana and making an improper stop.

SCOTT A. MCGRATH

Neshannock Township police charged the following:

•Steven G. Stunkard, 36, of New Castle, five counts of receiving stolen property, four counts of theft and one count of criminal attempt.

•Matthew Devin Salamon, 28, of New Castle, retail theft.
