•Criminal mischief. An awning and siding were damaged on a house in the 1000 block of Beckford Street around 11 p.m. Thursday when someone shot off a Molotov cocktail from a 19-lot multi-unit firework.

•Theft. A Silver Taurus PT140 .40-caliber handgun with a black handle and 3.25-inch barrel was stolen from a truck parked in a lot in the 500 block of Laurel Boulevard between June 8 and Thursday.

•Theft. A backpack, license, vehicle and insurance cards, two phlebotomy college books and $200 were stolen from a car parked in the 100 block of Maitland Street between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

•Theft. A generator was stolen from a pickup truck parked in the 1700 block of East Washington Street between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

•Found. A stray male black and white pit bull mix was found around 10:45 a.m. Thursday in a parking lot in downtown New Castle. The dog was turned over to the Lawrence County Humane Society.

•Craig A. Morrow Jr., 30, of New Castle, simple assault and harassment.

•David Williams, 24, of New Castle, simple assault and harassment.

•Michael A. Crafton, 41, of New Castle, fleeing or attempting to elude officer, flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment, reckless driving, careless driving, driving with obstructed window and driving while operating privileges suspended or revoked.

•Steven Michael Tedrow, 24, of Ellwood City, manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, intent to possess a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Tina M. Gilbert, 48, of New Castle, disorderly conduct.

The Pennsylvania Office of Inspector General charged the following people:

•Shandem Ceasar, 29, of West Middlesex, fraud in obtaining food stamps or assistance.

•Scott Nicolls, 43, of New Castle, fraud in obtaining food stamps or assistance.

New Castle's code enforcement department charged the following:

•1302 Highland Ave. Realty Trust of New Castle, sidewalks and driveways violation.

•Shantel Huuskonen, 24, of New Castle, sidewalks and driveways violation.

•Diana L. Nicely, 62, of New Castle, exterior paint violation.

•Brandon Scott Cornelius, 26, of Ellwood City, charged by state police with cruelty to animals and recklessly endangering another person.

Ellwood City police charged the following people:

•Maggie A. Hopple, 28, of Ellwood City, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•James T. Hammerly, 31, of Ellwood City, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Markece Lamar Miller, 24, of New Castle, charged by Shenango Township police with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of driving without a license and restrictions on alcoholic beverages violation.

•Andrew Vincent Perillo, 25, of Hubbard, Ohio, charged by Neshannock Township police with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of theft by deception, forgery, receiving stolen property and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Robert Patrick Mahich, 35, New Castle — Three days to six months in the Lawrence County jail with credit for three days served. Parole is granted with the condition he serve the balance of his sentence on parole. He pleaded guilty to making false identification to law enforcement authorities.

•Robert Patrick Mahich, 35, New Castle —A $200 fine, costs of prosecution, Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol assessment. He pleaded guilty to driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked.

•Kevin Eugene Hurt Jr., 24, Aliquippa — Eleven days to six months in the Lawrence County jail with credit for 11 days served. Parole is granted. Also 18 months probation, $500 restitution to the victim less any amount paid by the co-defendant, costs of prosecution; Beaver County Drug and Alcohol assessment. He pleaded guilty to theft.

•Guy A. Lieske, 54, New Castle — Six months probation, costs of prosecution, Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol assessment. He pleaded guilty to simple assault.

•Lindsey L. Cope, 26, East Rochester, Ohio — Three months probation, $100 fine; costs of prosecution, enroll in a parenting class. She pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.
