New Castle police charged the following people:

•Terrance Renal Murphy, 21, of New Castle, criminal homicide, aggravated assault and simple assault.

•Justin Comedy, 22, of New Castle, firearms not to be carried without a license, loitering and prowling at night, intent to possess a controlled substance and manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.

•Daniel Joseph Norris, 19, of New Castle, burglary, possession of an instrument of crime, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, distributing a small amount of marijuana-not for sale, and two counts each of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy.

•Richard R. Cotelesse Jr., 31, of New Castle, two counts of criminal attempt, and one count each of theft from a motor vehicle, loitering and prowling at night and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Marlon T. Mercer, 26, of New Castle, simple assault and harassment.

•Brandon M. Otlowski, 23, of New Castle, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.

•Corey Allen Lee II, 21, of New Castle, two counts of defiant trespass.

•Edwin Paul Coast, 31, of New Castle, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Stephen Ayersman, 21, of New Castle, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•Vickie Lawson, 53, of New Castle, making a false alarm and disorderly conduct.

•Trisha M. Tedrow, 19, of New Castle, robbery, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•Michael Paul Amabile, 29, of New Castle, retail theft.

•Maximiallan E. Knechtel, 35, of New Castle, harassment.

•Ramona Dabney, 40, of New Castle, disorderly conduct.

•Latoya Brown, 27, of New Castle, disorderly conduct.

•Krishna Parsuram, of Richmond Hill, N.Y., charged by New Castle’s code enforcement department with failure to cut weeds or grass.

•Brian M. Webb, 38, of New Castle, harassment.

•Rick Lawrence Myers, 73, of New Castle, disorderly conduct.

•Marlon T. Mercer, 26, of New Castle, flight to avoid apprehension or trial and disorderly conduct.

The New Castle school district charged the following people:

•Adeijah Johnson, 13, of New Castle, compulsory school attendance violation.

•Jason Dawarel, 13, of New Castle, compulsory school attendance violation.

Ellwood City police charged the following people:

•Dakota D. Locke, 21, of Wampum, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Christopher J. Magusiak, 20, of Ellwood City, robbery, conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•John Dakota Assalone, 21, of Ellwood City, receiving stolen property, conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking and robbery.

•Cameron Connifey, 22, of Beaver Falls, robbery, conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

State police charged the following people

•Rudolph M. Aldridge, 39, of New Castle, possession of marijuana, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving with license suspended and failure to use safety belt.

•Matthew Musguire, 25, of New Galilee, harassment.

•Tamara Jo Runner, 37, of Freedom, two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of driving while operating privilege suspended or revoked and giving false identification to a law officer.

•Kevin M. Cassidy, 42, of New Castle, charged by New Castle police with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Union Township police charged the following people:

•Charlotte Bernice Searcy, 58, of New Castle, retail theft.

•Wendy Kathleen Safranek, 37, of Butler, retail theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.

•Andrew James Safranek, 40, of Butler, receiving stolen property, retail theft and conspiracy.

•Ramona L. Dabney, 40, of New Castle, retail theft, receiving stolen property and defiant trespass.

•Alex John Benkosky, 21, of New Castle, four counts of retail theft, three counts of receiving stolen property, two counts each of possession of an instrument of crime and criminal mischief and one count each of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

•Jennifer Park, 35, of New Castle, charged by Union Township police with three counts of defiant trespass and one count of retail theft.

•Carmen M. Romanio, 63, of Ellwood City, charged by state police with four counts each of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, failure to pay over taxes to the commonwealth, vehicle purchase from dealer past the 20-day limit and engaging in unprofessional conduct.

•Robert Harris, 33, of New Castle, charged by the Lawrence County district attorney with two counts each of failure to apply for dog license and failure to have dog or cat vaccinated and one count each of failure to keep dog licensed and cruelty to animals.

Shenango Township police charged the following people:

•Travis Gene Miller, 21, of Fombell, retail theft.

•Maria Louise Pallerino of New Castle, retail theft.

•Kristin Marie Panella, 16, of New Castle, retail theft.

The Lawrence County Career and Technical Center charged the following people:

•Geoffrey M. Hanna, 17, of New Castle, violation of compulsory attendance.

•Deborah Hanna of New Castle, compulsory school attendance violation.

•Carmen M. Romanio, 63, of Ellwood City, charged by state police with three counts each of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, failure to pay over taxes to the commonwealth, vehicle purchase from dealer/past 20-day limit and engaging in unprofessional conduct.

Neshannock Township police charged the following people:

•Jacob Dylan Winter, 21, of New Wilmington, disorderly conduct.

•Michael Kelley, 39, of New Castle, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Michael Ross Williams, 25, of New Castle, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.

•Alexander M. Jones, 27, of New Castle, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.

  • Barletto.jpg Hearings in fatal crashes are postponed

    A hearing for the woman accused of striking a police cruiser and killing a Shenango Township officer has been rescheduled. Kylee Gwen Barletto, 26, of 693 Hoover Road, will face a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. June 6. It had been scheduled for Thursday morning.

  • Man sentenced after hotline calls lead to drug arrest

    A former Youngstown man, arrested after North Hill neighbors called the District Attorney’s Drug Hotline, has been sentenced. Rodney Bernard Madison, 37, formerly of Thornton Avenue, Youngstown, was sentenced to two to five years in the Lawrence County jail with credit for 732 days served, followed by two years probation.

  • Ellwood City club receives citation

    An Ellwood City club has been cited for gambling activities. The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has cited the Ellwood City Saxon Club at 901 Millview St.

  • Barletto.jpg Suspect in officer’s death jailed in county

    Kylee Gwen Barletto was composed walking into court Monday until a television reporter pelted her with questions. Escorted by two state troopers, she was asked, “What do you have to say to the police officer’s family?” “I’m sorry,” she uttered as she was ushered into the court lobby. Then she burst into tears.

  • brown.jpg Prosecutors granted stay in Jordan Brown decision

    A hearing on the status of a boy accused in a 2009 fatal shooting has been canceled. The hearing on 15-year-old Jordan Brown’s detention had been planned for Lawrence County Court today, but was canceled after prosecutors requested, and received, a stay in the proceedings.

    Kylee Barletto was arraigned this morning by District Judge Jerry Cartwright. She is being lodged in the Lawrence County jail on $250,000 bond. Barletto, 25, is charged with homicide by vehicle and 14 other counts in the May 2 death of Shenango Township police officer William J. McCarthy IV.
