District Judges: Listings for Nov. 13

NEW CASTLE — David B. Rishel

•Timothy Joseph McConahy, 33, of New Castle, charged by Hickory Township police with forgery, theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception.

•Anthony L. Olbrych, 50, of New Castle, charged by Shenango Township police with two counts each of failure to apply for dog license, failure to have dog or cat vaccinated and failure to keep dog licensed.

Jerry G. Cartwright

•Randolph Wiech, 58, of Ellwood City, charged by Ellwood City police with intent to possess a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Marilyn M. Lamoreaux, 35, of Butler, charged by the Lawrence County district attorney with bad checks.

Scott A. McGrath

Sharp Collections charged the following people:

•Heather E. Leonard of New Wilmington, taxation/violation of ordinance and failure to make required return.

•Donald E. Miller Jr., 54, of Pulaski, failure to make required return.

•Jeffrey Miller of New Wilmington, failure to make required return.

•Chad R. Weingartner of New Wilmington, taxation/violation of ordinance and failure to make required return.

•Tami L. Weingartner of New Wilmington, taxation/violation of ordinance and failure to make required return.

Nehsannock Township police charged the following people:

•Craig Vincent Underwood, 27, of New Castle, aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering the welfare of children.

•Domenick J. Joseph, 29, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence and one count of failure to keep right.

The Lawrence County commissioners have decided to solicit proposals for the private operation of the county jail. Good idea?

Yes. If it’s a more efficient way to run the jail, I’m all for it.
No. I think there would be too many questions of liability for the county.
Not sure. The county seems to be doing a good job of running the jail now. Why break it if it’s not broken?
