Common Pleas Court sentences for Nov. 15

NEW CASTLE — Dominick Motto

•Justin Andrew Baysinger, 22, Beaver Falls — Costs of prosecution, $1,000 fine, intermediate punishment program with 90 days on electronic monitoring. He pleaded guilty to driving while privileges are suspended.

•Justin Andrew Baysinger, 22, Beaver Falls — Costs of prosecution, $1,500 fine, intermediate punishment program for two years with the first 90 days to be served on house arrest with electronic monitoring. His license is suspended for 18 months. The case is transferred to Beaver County for supervision. He pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of controlled substances.

•Steven Paul Coast, 20, Volant — Ninety-nine days to 12 months in the Lawrence County jail with credit for 99 days served, followed by one year probation. He pleaded guilty to recklessly endangering another person.

•Jack Rao Jr., 41, New Castle — Six to 12 months in the Lawrence County jail with credit for six days served. He is granted work release. He pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.

•Jack Rao Jr., 41, New Castle — Eleven and a half to 23 and a half months in the Lawrence County jail with credit for six days served followed by one year probation to be served concurrently with any other sentence being served. He is granted work release and must provide a DNA sample. He pleaded guilty to burglary.

•Shawn B. Cox Jr., 20, New Castle — One year probation, costs of prosecution, restitution to the victim, no contact with the victim and 40 hours of community service. He pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy.

•Louis Michael Smith, 40, Aliquippa — Two years in the intermediate punishment program with the first six months to be served on house arrest followed by two years probation, costs of prosecution, follow all rules and regulations of Beaver County house arrest program. He pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender.

•Bo William Clements, 18, New Castle — Three years probation, costs of prosecution, no contact with the victim and any evidence seized by law enforcement is forfeited. He pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.

•Brooke Ellen Buchowski, 23, New Wilmington — Six months in the intermediate punishment program with the first 30 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. She is granted work release. Her driver’s license is suspended for 12 months. She pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.

•John Curits Cross, 62, New Castle — Two years in the intermediate punishment program with the first 90 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring, assessment by Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol, costs of prosecution, a fine, license suspension for 18 months. He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.

•Jawan Murray, 20, New Castle — Two years probation, no contact with the victims except as necessary to effectuate and/or arrange for custody, partial custody or visitation with minor child. He pleaded guilty to simple assault.

•Lierre Vontae Armstrong, 23, New Castle — Three to 11 1/2 months in the Lawrence County jail with credit for 44 days served, costs of prosecution. He pleaded guilty of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

•Nathan Perkins, 51, New Castle — Six to 12 months in the Lawrence County jail, costs of prosecution, $71 restitution to Dollar General, provide a DNA sample. He pleaded guilty to retail theft.

•Thomas Michael Darling Jr., 37, New Wilmington — Costs of prosecution, $1,000 fine and intermediate punishment program for 90 days to be served on house arrest with electronic monitoring. He pleaded guilty to driving while operating privileges are suspended.

•Thomas Michael Darling Jr., 37, New Wilmington — Costs of prosecution, $1,500 fine, two years in the intermediate punishment program with the first 90 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring to be served consecutively with any other sentence being served, driver’s license is suspended fro 18 months. He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.

•Donna Renee Aiken, 44, of New Castle — Two years probation, any evidence seized by law enforcement is forfeited. She pleaded guilty to simple assault.

•Matthew Lee Colich, 29, New Castle — Costs of prosecution, $150 fine, any evidence seized by law enforcement is forfeited. He pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana.

•Roger Lee Reynolds Jr., 28, New Castle — Three years probation, which may be terminated when restitution is paid in full, costs of prosecution, $3,350 restitution to the victim, any evidence seized by law enforcement is ordered forfeited. He pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.

  • Man sentenced after hotline calls lead to drug arrest

    A former Youngstown man, arrested after North Hill neighbors called the District Attorney’s Drug Hotline, has been sentenced. Rodney Bernard Madison, 37, formerly of Thornton Avenue, Youngstown, was sentenced to two to five years in the Lawrence County jail with credit for 732 days served, followed by two years probation.

  • Ellwood City club receives citation

    An Ellwood City club has been cited for gambling activities. The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has cited the Ellwood City Saxon Club at 901 Millview St.

  • Barletto.jpg Suspect in officer’s death jailed in county

    Kylee Gwen Barletto was composed walking into court Monday until a television reporter pelted her with questions. Escorted by two state troopers, she was asked, “What do you have to say to the police officer’s family?” “I’m sorry,” she uttered as she was ushered into the court lobby. Then she burst into tears.

    A hearing on the status of a boy accused in a 2009 fatal shooting has been canceled. The hearing on 15-year-old Jordan Brown’s detention had been planned for Lawrence County Court today, but was canceled after prosecutors requested, and received, a stay in the proceedings.

    Kylee Barletto was arraigned this morning by District Judge Jerry Cartwright. She is being lodged in the Lawrence County jail on $250,000 bond. Barletto, 25, is charged with homicide by vehicle and 14 other counts in the May 2 death of Shenango Township police officer William J. McCarthy IV.
