District Judges: Listings for Oct. 22

NEW CASTLE — Melissa A. Amodie

New Castle police charged the following people:

•John Crawford, 18, of New Castle, two counts of defiant trespass, three counts of criminal mischief and one count of harassment.

•Lisa Marie Kerr, 32, of New Castle, retail theft.

•Steven Michael Tedrow, 22, of Ellwood City, theft from a motor vehicle.

Jerry G. Cartwright

•Ryan J. Kudlac, of Ellwood City, charged by Ellwood City police with public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

Jennifer Nicholson

•Charles E. Hill Jr., 35, of New Castle, charged by Union Township police with aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, terroristic threats and ethnic intimidation.

•Brandon Daniel Bailey, 28, of New Castle, charged by state police with burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.

•Tricia Ann Claroni Burton, 34, of New Castle, charged by New Castle police with pet confinement and control violation.

David B. Rishel

Moraine State Park charged the following people:

•Christian Thomas Laskey, 20, of Coraopolis, use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Nicholas Albert Poluha, 19, of Coraopolis, possession of marijuana and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Scott A. McGrath

•Samuel Razo Jr., 34, of New Castle, charged by the Pennsylvana Fish and Boat Commission with littering near waters.

District Judges
  • Robbery charges withdrawn

    Charges against Justin Anthony Barry, who was accused in a robbery, have been withdrawn. New Castle police had arrested Barry, 25, of Apt. F, 1214 Highland Ave., earlier this month and charged him with robbery, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, theft and receiving stolen property.

  • gavel.jpg Three more plead guilty in oxycodone ring

    Three more New Castle residents pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of violating the federal drug laws.
    Christopher Klingensmith, 38, of Vine Street, James Cracraft, 39, of Randolph Street and Thomas Klingensmith Jr., 40, of Bellair Drive, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy before U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Schwab.
    U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton made the announcement Tuesday.

  • jail.jpg Inmate files federal suit for alleged beating

    A Lawrence County jail inmate is accusing corrections officers of abusing and mistreating him after his arrest. An attorney for Scott J. Lauderbaugh Jr., 29, of Mercer filed a lawsuit Friday in U.S. District Court against five corrections officers, alleging they violated Lauderbaugh’s civil rights by beating up on him “maliciously and sadistically” upon his admittance to the jail Feb. 5.

    An attorney defending a pain management doctor claims his client dispensed prescriptions within the parameters of the law. A Pennsylvania attorney general’s deputy said she intends to prove that 61-year-old Dr. Van Edward Scott had prescribed powerful and highly addictive drugs to at least eight patients in Lawrence County and that he prescribed the drugs to three patients who were drug-dependent.

  • Barletto.jpg Kylee Barletto Hearing: Judge lowers bond for woman accused in Shenango officer’s death

    Charges against the woman accused of killing a Shenango Township policeman have been held for court. However, bond for Kylee Gwen Barletto, 26, of 693 Hoover Road was lowered, with the condition she be placed under house arrest if she is released.
