New Castle police charged the following people:

•Devontae Maurice Rice, 19, of New Castle, firearms not to be carried without a license, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault.

•William Ronald Fry, 28, of New Castle, burglary, two counts of conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•Michael Ross Williams, 25, of New Castle, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•Jarrel Lamar Jones, 28, of New Castle, disorderly conduct.

•Eugene Ferrante 53, of New Castle, disorderly conduct.

•William Joseph Kroll, 31, of New Castle, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Jocelyn Kulik, 26, of New Castle, retail theft.

•Terri Alaaser, 52, of New Castle, disorderly conduct.

•Steven Bellisario, 37, of New Castle, retail theft.

•Michael William Haggard, 57, of New Castle, disorderly house.

•Linda Haggard, 59, of New Castle, disorderly house.

•Beth Ann Chidester, 46, of New Castle, disorderly house.

•Hazel Julie Ryhal, 41, of New Castle, driving under the influence, public drunkenness and similar misconduct and driving while operating privilege suspended or revoked.

•Dennis Vogan Jr., 29, of New Castle, charged by state police with two counts of driving under the influence, lighted lamps violation and failure to use safety belt.

Ellwood City police charged the following people:

•Dawn Catherine Dittmer, 39, of Ellwood City, two counts of simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment.

•Linda A. Taylor, 51, of Elllwood City, two counts of driving under the influence and driving the wrong way.

•Tyre Porter Patterson, 57, of Ellwood City, two counts of driving under the influence.

New Castle police charged the following people:

•Jalen Q. Jones, Sr., 20, of New Castle, fleeing or attempting to elude officer, escape, intent to possess a controlled substance, operating vehicle without valid inspection, failure to stop at stop sign, and failure to yield at yield sign.

•Jeffrey Wayne Burton, 26, of New Castle, simple assault and harassment.

Union Township police charged the following people:

•James L. Jones Jr., 24, of New Castle, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor or other vehicle.

•Morris Wayne Haas, 49, of New Castle, four counts of retail theft, four counts of receiving stolen property and four counts of theft by deception.

State police charged the following people:

•Joshua Michael Lagala, 20, of Wampum, two counts of driving under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, recklessly endangering another person, purchase of an alcoholic beverage by a minor, failure to keep right, disregarding traffic lane, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, minor prohibited operating with alcohol, reckless driving, restrictions on alcoholic beverages and failure to use safety belt.

•Scott Lawrence Easterday, 39, of New Castle, burglary, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking and four counts of making repairs to or selling offensive weapons.

•John W. Newton, 57, of New Castle, charged by South New Castle police with address signs violation.

Shenango Township police charged the following people:

•Jay A. Audino, 51, of New Castle, address signs violation.

•Daniel Bartley, 53, of New Castle, address signs violation.

Scott A. McGrath

•Robert Joseph Osselborn, 41, of Butler, charged by state police with three counts of theft by deception.

Neshannock Township police charged the following people:

•Nathaniel Howard, 40, of New Castle, arrest prior to requisition.

•Derek Kenneth Mills, 30, of Volant, two counts of driving under the influence, careless driving and driving with no rear lights.

•Jacob Daniel Miksza, 27, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence, careless driving and operating with unsafe equipment.

    A hearing for the woman accused of striking a police cruiser and killing a Shenango Township officer has been rescheduled. Kylee Gwen Barletto, 26, of 693 Hoover Road, will face a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. June 6. It had been scheduled for Thursday morning.

  • Man sentenced after hotline calls lead to drug arrest

    A former Youngstown man, arrested after North Hill neighbors called the District Attorney’s Drug Hotline, has been sentenced. Rodney Bernard Madison, 37, formerly of Thornton Avenue, Youngstown, was sentenced to two to five years in the Lawrence County jail with credit for 732 days served, followed by two years probation.

  • Ellwood City club receives citation

    An Ellwood City club has been cited for gambling activities. The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has cited the Ellwood City Saxon Club at 901 Millview St.

  • Barletto.jpg Suspect in officer’s death jailed in county

    Kylee Gwen Barletto was composed walking into court Monday until a television reporter pelted her with questions. Escorted by two state troopers, she was asked, “What do you have to say to the police officer’s family?” “I’m sorry,” she uttered as she was ushered into the court lobby. Then she burst into tears.

  • brown.jpg Prosecutors granted stay in Jordan Brown decision

    A hearing on the status of a boy accused in a 2009 fatal shooting has been canceled. The hearing on 15-year-old Jordan Brown’s detention had been planned for Lawrence County Court today, but was canceled after prosecutors requested, and received, a stay in the proceedings.

  • gavel.jpg Suspect in officer’s death is arraigned

    Kylee Barletto was arraigned this morning by District Judge Jerry Cartwright. She is being lodged in the Lawrence County jail on $250,000 bond. Barletto, 25, is charged with homicide by vehicle and 14 other counts in the May 2 death of Shenango Township police officer William J. McCarthy IV.
