FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE: Heidi, especially the time NBC pre-empted the Oakland Raiders-New York Jets football game in the final minute to begin the Shirley Temple classic movie. The Jets led 32-29 with 65 seconds remaining when television coverage stopped. But the Raiders scored twice in nine seconds to win 43-32, and nobody saw it. Heidi was great though!

If I could go back in time, I’d wash it all down with a cool bottle of Paul’s black cherry pop. (Anyone remember that?) Our family chilled those small glass bottles in a wooden case on our back porch.

I used to put them on pencils and decorate with sequins and feathers. I loved the glow-in-the-dark Plastigoop.
