Photo Gallery, Story: Vision Ministries brings tent revival to downtown New Castle

NEW CASTLE — Cold wind and the threat of rain couldn’t stop the faithful from gathering Saturday at the Vision Ministries tent revival.

Nearly 100 people came out to the parking lot of the former Centre banquet hall on East North Street to participate in the service. The event began at noon, with music from the 3sixteen praise band and free hot dogs and drinks for all.

Visitors could browse display and information tables featuring groups such as Feed My Sheep, Celebrate Recovery, People Concerned for the Unborn Child, and other faith-based organizations.

Mike Busin of Neshannock Township, who attended with his wife, Janet, said that the cold and dampness had no effect on them.

“Pastor Randy (Crum, the event organizer) and I have been friends since high school,” Busin said. “We wanted to support his ministry, and show what Christ has done in our lives. If even one life is changed here today it will all be worth it.”

The overarching theme of the event was “God is Three Persons.”

Brother Lee Riddle ,the first of three speakers, spoke on God, The Father. Riddle said he was in his element at the revival, as God had called him out of a church to speak on the streets. Riddle is a part of On the Streets Ministries of the Pittsburgh area.

Riddle was followed by Elder Albert Librizzi, pastor of Barnstone Ministries in New Bedford. Librizzi spent his time sharing a message about “God, The Son.”

After Librizzi finished, Michelle Bisset from Celebrate Recovery shared a brief talk about her ministry, and some of the successes that have come through it.

The event concluded with Crum wrapping up the day with the message “God, The Holy Spirit” and explaining the God who is three persons in one.

Crum said the purpose of the event was “to see lives changed through the power of Christ, and to give people the opportunity to learn about the ministries and help available.”

Vision Ministries will hold its next outdoor event June 21 at Riverwalk Park.
