High School Golf: Neshannock’s Cioffi ends career on high note
Neshannock High boys golfer Matt Cioffi concluded his career in fine fashion yesterday. Cioffi, a senior, placed 12th at the PIAA Individual Golf Championships with an 81-76—157. The two-day event was held at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York.

Girls Volleyball: Neshannock girls win in preliminary round
It’s official. The Neshannock High girls volleyball team is in the round of 16 for the first time in program history. The Lady Lancers continued their unexpected run with a 13-25, 25-10, 18-25, 25-18, 15-4 victory over Rochester in the preliminary round of the WPIAL Class A playoffs at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.

Girls Volleyball: Laurel loses heartbreaker in WPIAL playoffs
Lack of experience caught up to the Laurel High volleyball team last night. The Lady Spartans lost a heartbreaker to South Side Beaver, 17-25, 18-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-8, in a WPIAL Class A opening-round game at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.

Girls Soccer: Mangino’s kick helps Mohawk advance
The Mohawk High girls soccer team found a way to get a win Saturday. Mikala Mangino scored the game-winning goal with just over 10 minutes left, lifting the Lady Warriors to a 2-1 WPIAL Class A first-round playoff win over Bishop Canevin at Upper St. Clair.

Girls Soccer: Neshannock falls to Seton-La Salle
The Neshannock High girls soccer team continued its progression this season. However, the Lady Lancers would have liked to advance deeper in the playoffs. Seton-La Salle prevented that as it scored early and held on to upset Neshannock, 1-0, in a WPIAL Class A first-round game at Central Valley’s Sarge Alberts Stadium on Saturday.

The Neshannock and Mohawk girls soccer teams open their WPIAL Class A playoff bids Saturday. The Lady Lancers play Seton-La Salle at 2 p.m. at Central Valley, while the Lady Warriors take on Bishop Canevin at 2 p.m. at Upper St. Clair.
