NEW CASTLE —
Neshannock came up a bit short yesterday.
The Lady Lancers dropped all three singles matches in a 3-2 WPIAL Section 2-AA match at Pearson Park in the Coaches vs. Cancer Pink-Out event.
“It was just a tough match,” Lady Lancers coach Chuck Dess said. “I thought we competed really hard; they’re a veteran team.
“The score doesn’t indicate how well we played. I thought the girls competed really hard. We still have an outside shot at the playoffs and we’re going to put this one behind us.”
The doubles tandems of Maria Acosta/Cecelia Weingart (No. 1) and Arti Anna Ribarevski/Erin Warvell (No. 2) posted victories for Neshannock (6-4, 7-4).
