High School Golf: Cioffi claims Tri-County individual title

NEW CASTLE — Matt Cioffi’s time has come.

The Neshannock High senior shot a 4-over-par 76 to best a field of 28 golfers and capture the title Tri-County Golf Championship on Friday at the New Castle Country Club.

Cioffi edged out teammate Mike Maciarello and Shenango’s Lucas Villani, both of whom shot 78s.

Shenango’s Matt DeAngelo was fourth with a 79, followed by Laurel’s Nick Peluso and Shane Wilson with 81s.

The team title went to Shenango with a 326. Neshannock was the runner-up with a 338.
