MUSIC: Summer concerts return to Riverwalk Park

The downtown free summer music concert series will return June 12 to the Riverwalk Amphitheater.

Concerts are scheduled for 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Fridays of June through August.

The Riverwalk Amphitheater is located at the corner of Washington and East streets, behind Cascade Center.

The Lawrence County Brass will perform at the first concert, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. During the intermission, a special show will be provided by the PA Martial Arts Academy Demonstration Team.

Concert-goers may take a lawn chair.

The concert series is sponsored in part by ESB Bank, Preston Motors, and state Rep. Chris Sainato in cooperation with the New Castle Downtown Business Association and Packer Thomas.

The concert schedule includes:

•June 26 — Manhattan Band playing a variety of music for all ages

•July 10 — Kixx Alderette Band (a Jimmy Buffet Tribute), with a special show by the Junior Model Search Michelle Goodman-Jones during intermission

•July 24 - Doug McIltrot & the Allies — with an intermission demonstration by PA Martial Arts Academy

•Aug. 14 — Occasional Reign, playing a variety of music for all ages

•Aug. 28 — Rudy Zetz 4th and Main, playing music for all ages with an intermission demonstration by PA Martial Arts Academy.
