Angela M. Sperdute, Matthew P. Majzlik

NEW CASTLE — Howard and Carla Sperdute of 202 N. Cedar St. are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Angela Marie Sperdute, and Matthew Phillip Majzlik. Parents of the future groom are Jerry and Betsylynn Majzlik of Monaca.

Miss Sperdute is a 2001 graduate of New Castle High School who received her bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Westminster College in 2005.

She is a graduate student at Slippery Rock University, where her focus is elementary education. She will graduate in December.

Her fiancé is a 2001 alumnus of Hopewell High School who earned his degree in 2006 from Allegheny College. He is a regional sales representative with Church Mutual Insurance.

A wedding is being planned for July 31 at St. Vincent  De Paul Church in New Castle.

The reception will be at The Fez in Aliquippa.
