Brittny L. Malinowski, Drue A. Flora

NEW CASTLE — Jeff and Debbie Malinowski of Pulaski Road and Richard and Barb Flora of Old Butler Road are announcing the engagement of their children, Brittny Lyn Malinowski and Drue Anthony Flora.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Neshannock High School and has a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees in education from Slippery Rock University. She is a fifth grade virtual teacher.

Her future husband graduated from Shenango High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University and a master’s from the University of Kentucky. He is a vocational rehabilitation counselor.

Their wedding will take place at 3 p.m. July 13, 2013, at St. Camillus Church.

The Lawrence County commissioners have decided to solicit proposals for the private operation of the county jail. Good idea?

Yes. If it’s a more efficient way to run the jail, I’m all for it.
No. I think there would be too many questions of liability for the county.
Not sure. The county seems to be doing a good job of running the jail now. Why break it if it’s not broken?
