Beth Anne Simari, William John Zarlingo III

NEW CASTLE — Beth Anne Simari of Hillsville and William John Zarlingo III of New Castle are announcing their engagement.

The future bride is a daughter of Gerald Simari and the late Wilda Simari. Her fiancé is a son of William Zarlingo II and Corinne Ash.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Mohawk High School and the University of Pittsburgh. She works as a speech-language pathologist for the Mohawk School District and maintains a pediatric private practice in New Castle.  

Her future groom is a graduate of Union High School. He is employed as an electirician with Tri-Area Electric in Youngstown, OH.

Their wedding will take place June 29, 2012,  at St. Lawrence Church in Hillsville, and the reception will be held at the Avalon Country Club at Buhl Park.

The Lawrence County commissioners have decided to solicit proposals for the private operation of the county jail. Good idea?

Yes. If it’s a more efficient way to run the jail, I’m all for it.
No. I think there would be too many questions of liability for the county.
Not sure. The county seems to be doing a good job of running the jail now. Why break it if it’s not broken?
