The engagement of Jenny Beth Shaffer and Patrick Hunt was announced at a family reception at the home of the future bride’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence A. Shaffer of Hermitage.
Miss Shaffer is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Young and the late Dr. and Mrs. H.L. Shaffer, all of New Wilmington.
She is a graduate of Hickory High School and a 2003 cum laude graduate of The College of Wooster where she was an art education major.
She received her masters degree in 2009 from Westminster College in school counseling. A resident of Sharon, she is an art teacher at Summit Academy Elementary in Youngstown.
The future groom is a resident of St. Louis where he was home-schooled.
He is a 2003 graduate of The College of Wooster majoring in computer science.
He holds a master’s degree in studio art from Webster University, St. Louis, with a concentration in sculpture and was the recipient in 2009 of a master’s of fine art degree in photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He is a self-employed artist and has exhibited his work at various museums and galleries.
Invitations will be issued for a July 2010 wedding and reception at Stambaugh Auditorium, Youngstown.
